(Senior) Integration Specialist [Luxembourg]


 

The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Corporate Services Directorate – Group Digital Office (GCS-GDO) – Platforms & Services Department (P&S) – Integration Division (INT) – Applications Integration Unit (AI) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a (Senior) Integration Specialist*.

This is a full-time position at grade 5/6 for which the EIB offers a permanent contract

Panel interviews are anticipated for July 2023.

Purpose

You will drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of integration solutions for business applications to meet functional and technology needs.

Operating Network

The Applications Integration Unit provides a modern integration platform, a middleware layer for the communication between IT applications, and a data virtualization layer with a Python platform for data scientists and experimental users.

You will coordinate a team of approximately 6 external consultants and report to the Head of Applications Integration Unit.

Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the evolution of the integration platform to ensure its long-term cost-effectiveness, business value, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and scalability
  • Design and coordinate the realisation of integration solutions for projects run by other IT teams
  • Manage projects to ensure solution delivery within the set schedule, budget and quality, whilst keeping the stakeholders informed on the progress, timing and budget of the projects
  • Define best practices and guidelines for design, development, documentation, automatic testing, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipeline within the unit and in coordination with other teams
  • Maintain contact with vendors of the integration components to anticipate upgrades and future evolutions

Qualifications

  • University degree preferably in Engineering, Information Technology, Information Management
  • At least 5-years of relevant professional experience in design and implementation of software solutions
  • Proven experience and strong technical knowledge of most of the tools and architecture of the middleware stack, including web services, Application
  • Ability to perform hands-on Proof of Concept (POC) work to assess comprehensively applicability and impact of technology choices
  • Programming Interface (API) Management, Enterprise Service Bus and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Broad experience working in varied software development platforms and environments including Linux, Java
  • Knowledge of automation and enablement technologies, such as Jenkins, Jira, Git, Nexus, and Azure DevOps
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*) with a good command of the other.

  • Your future career development is conditional on reaching sufficient proficiency in both working languages of the EIB. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion (via a selection process as well as via the annual appraisal cycle). If your language clause is not fulfilled and you are selected for a position that implies a promotion, you can be appointed to the position, however the promotion will only become effective when the language clause is fulfilled. The language clause has no impact on internal moves that do not imply a promotion.
