POSITION: Campus SecurityAttendant
SALARY: $20.00 an hour plus local supplement

REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISES: N/A
WORK WEEK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday
WORK HOURS: 40 hours minimum
NUMBER OF MONTHS PER YEAR: 10 months
POSITION PURPOSE:
- To assist in the supervisory capacity in the provision of security and safety on the school campus for students, staff, and property. Full benefits including paid holidays, sick leave and annual leave, health insurance and retirement per state guidelines.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Develops positive relations with students, school staff, and the public.
- Patrols school site buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and the main duty station is at the entrance of the high school student parking lot.
- Conducts patrol inspections of doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
- Calls school administrators and school resource officer (SRO) for assistance in accordance with written school safety procedure and emergency action plans.
- Reports any unusual conditions or malfunctioning of outside fire hydrants or in driveways;
- Checks parking lots for cars of visitors and students.
- Ensures parking tags are displayed and cars are parked in designated areas.
- Makes written reports of security violations.
- Adheres to strict confidentiality of student information.
- Must be available to work modified hours including nights or weekends when deemed necessary by the site supervisor.
- Any additional duties assigned by the Principal pertaining to school safety and security of the campus.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Previous office experience
REQUIRED TRAINING PROVIDED BY THE DISTRICT OR SCHOOL:- Must complete de-escalation & conflict resolution training
- Crowd Manager Training
- School Crossing Guard Training (when designated as essential
- First Aid/First Responder Training
- Other training deemed necessary for performance of the job.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the
Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work is considered moderate physical work requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Employees in this position are required to work in indoor and outdoor environments, and come into direct contact with OCS staff, students and the public. Work may involve hours such as occasional nights or weekends.
